MiJi Technology—which has participated in the development of standards for the practical application of circadian rhythm lighting solutions—recently hosted an academic symposium on healthy lighting and a technical discussion on national standards in Shanghai.
An academic symposium on healthy lighting and a technical discussion on national standards were recently held in Shanghai to jointly explore the development of a healthy lighting standards system and advance the formulation of national standards for healthy lighting.

On August 28–29, 2024, MiJi Technology attended the “Academic Symposium on Healthy Lighting and Technical Discussion on National Standards” as a participating organization.Organized by the Secretariat of the Subcommittee on Lighting Fundamentals (TC224/SC4) of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Lighting Appliances, the event was held in Shanghai. It brought together nearly 50 experts and corporate representatives from universities and the lighting industry to jointly explore the development of a healthy lighting standards system and advance the formulation of national standards for healthy lighting.

The conference began with opening remarks by Professor Lin Yandan of Fudan University and Zhang Wei (via video link)—Secretary-General of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Lighting Appliances (TC224), Secretary-General of the Subcommittee on Lighting Fundamentals (TC224/SC4), and Deputy Director of the National Electric Light Source Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Beijing).They extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the experts and corporate representatives participating in the symposium, expressing the hope that attendees would use this event as an opportunity to actively engage in in-depth exchanges and discussions centered on the theme of “Healthy Lighting”—covering product technology, testing and evaluation methods, market application techniques, and the development of a standards system—and to collectively contribute their wisdom and efforts toward promoting the healthy development of the lighting industry.

Presentation: “Quantification and Practice of the Non-Visual Effects of Light”
During the special presentation session, Ye Qunsong, Founder and CEO of MiJi Technology, delivered a presentation titled “Circadian Lighting Solutions and Practical Applications,” focusing on circadian lighting.He introduced the various solutions and recent advancements MiJi Technology offers for LED lighting products. Focusing on the product design perspective, he shared circadian lighting solutions and their practical applications, as well as the industry chaos caused by a lack of standards and insufficient theoretical foundations encountered during implementation. He proposed practical approaches that integrate product applications with academic theory and outlined his expectations for the future.He emphasized the guiding role and significance of the publication of the standard “Dose for Non-Visual Biological Effects of Light on the Human Eye” for the research and development of practical solutions.

Report on “Circadian Lighting Solutions and Practical Applications”
During the interactive discussion session, centered on the conceptual framework for building a healthy lighting standards system and the practical application of the national standard project on “Dose of Non-Visual Biological Effects of Light on the Human Eye,” attendees engaged in a lively dialogue regarding the multidimensional definition and broad scope of healthy lighting. They also exchanged in-depth views and explored the specific implementation and future development directions of healthy lighting-related technologies across various application fields.
During the conference, a technical discussion meeting on the “Dose of Non-Visual Biological Effects of Light on the Human Eye” national recommended standard—led by Fudan University and organized by the Basic Lighting Sub-Technical Committee (SAC/TC224/SC4) under the National Technical Committee for Lighting Appliances Standardization (SAC/TC224)—was also held, with participation from MiJi Technology and other organizations.a technical discussion session was held on the Recommended National Standard for “Exposure Dose for Non-Visual Biological Effects of Light on the Human Eye,” which was led by Fudan University and developed with the participation of companies such as MiJi Technology.
We believe that through this exchange and discussion, the healthy lighting standards system will be refined as soon as possible, driving high-quality development in the lighting industry.
