Packing More Interaction into a Smaller Space

More control options
Does Not Mean a More Complex Product
A single light fixture can feature a knob, touch controls, and voice commands,
and more control options,
but it should still look sleek,
and it shouldn’t look bulky when placed on a desk or in a room.
What truly affects the user experience
is not just the number of features added,
but also whether these “features” can be seamlessly integrated into the product.
Structural Challenges in Multi-Modal Interaction
When knobs, touch controls, and voice commands each use
separate control units,
space must be reserved inside the product for the components and their connections.
The more features there are, the more complex the structural layout, assembly, and debugging become,
the more coordination is required.
Product design involves not only selecting functions,
but also the overall arrangement within a limited space.
MiJi Technology’s three-in-one human-machine interaction control module
combines rotary, touch, and voice controls,
all on a single 35 mm diameter main control board.
Compared to installing multiple separate interaction control units,
this design
reduces the number of duplicate control boards and connections,
allowing for greater flexibility in the luminaire’s internal layout.
On-Demand Configuration and Overall Cost Optimization
can be tailored to product positioning,
internal space, and target cost,
to design a combination of required functions.
Product costs are not limited to a single control board.
Connectors, wiring harnesses, assembly steps, and debugging work
are also factored into the overall cost of the solution.
Integrated design reduces redundant components and connections,
makes assembly and commissioning more centralized,
thereby creating conditions for optimizing both space and overall costs.
Enriching Interaction
Simplifying Product Structure
From interaction requirements and control modules to electronic solution adaptation,
we achieve the right combination of functions within a limited space.
